What's New in Roadbook
A running log of feature additions and bug fixes, newest first. Roadbook ships often, so this only covers changes riders would actually notice — not every internal cleanup.
Known Issues & Limitations
These aren't bugs waiting to be fixed — they're things a web app genuinely can't do. Real support means shipping Roadbook as a native mobile app.
- No auto-ducking. Other audio (music, podcasts) doesn't automatically get quieter while turn-by-turn is speaking — only a native app can control another app's volume.
- The phone's "Shake to Undo Typing" prompt can still pop up while riding. Web apps can't fully suppress this OS-level gesture dialog.
- No Region Offline Downloads. Web apps only get small, temporary local storage, so downloading a whole region's map for offline use isn't possible until Roadbook has a real mobile app.
- GPS can stop tracking in the background. Web apps can't reliably keep location running once the screen locks or you switch apps — that needs a native app.
- No persistent location permission. Web apps can only ask for location one session at a time; "Always Allow" is a mobile-app-only permission.

0.94.149
October 6, 2026
- FixedAdding a stop in the planner no longer zooms the map out every time; it zooms out only when the route gets close to the edge of the map.
- FasterIf the map's tile service is slow to answer, the app now gives up after 3 seconds and loads the tiles directly instead of leaving the map blank.
0.94.148
October 6, 2026

- FasterSigning in no longer waits on a late-loading piece of the app, so the account menu is ready sooner on a cold start.
- FasterImporting a GPX file and opening long saved routes do less work.
- FixedThe Suggested Ride view no longer jumps around while a proposal is still loading, and the good-roads range ring no longer redraws when nothing has changed.

- ImprovedMaps outside the offline area now load through Roadbook's own server.

- ImprovedPlace searches are no longer kept in the browser after you close the app.
0.94.142
September 29, 2026
- FixedWhen a sign-in ends while the app is closed, the next person to open it no longer sees the previous rider's trips and rides. Opening the app with no signal never clears your data.
- ImprovedError reports and weather lookups send less personal detail; the privacy page explains what is cached.
0.94.141
September 29, 2026
- FixedAfter a reroute, the map no longer shows the part of the original route you skipped.
0.94.140
September 29, 2026
- ImprovedGPS Mode favorites and recents sync only when your plan includes cloud sync; saved rides now have their own setting, separate from lean angle.
- FixedFeatures your plan includes, like friendly stop names, road snapping and nearby good roads, no longer fail with "not allowed".
0.94.139
September 29, 2026
- ImprovedThe admin can now turn Suggested Ride, lean angle and route choices on for riders who are not signed in. All three start off.
0.94.138
September 29, 2026
- NewRoute choices. Pick between up to 3 routes, each with its time, distance and curviness, in the GPS Mode preview, or tap Other routes on a one-leg route in the planner. Available on paid plans.
0.94.137
September 28, 2026
- ImprovedRoads are easier to see on the dark map. They now stand out from the land on the planning map, GPS Mode and turn-by-turn, and your route line stays on top.
0.94.136
September 28, 2026
- NewDark mode. Settings has a new Appearance option: Match phone, Light or Dark. The planning map, GPS Mode, dialogs and the help pages all go dark, and turn-by-turn on Auto goes dark too when the app is dark.
- FixPop-ups and dialogs, such as the curviness explainer, are no longer cut off on iPhone. They now open over the whole screen.
0.94.135
September 28, 2026
- FixA saved ride's track no longer draws a straight line across the map where the recording jumped, for example after a ride was resumed. The track now shows a break there instead.
0.94.134
September 28, 2026
- NewA curviness rating for every route, from 1 (mostly straight) to 5 (very twisty), in the trip summary and your saved trips, with a "How curviness is worked out" explainer. Curve colours can tint the route on the map by how twisty each stretch is.
- UpdateSuggested Ride now looks for known twisty roads across the US and routes your loop through them, showing each road's name and curviness as a stop you can edit. It falls back to the usual loop when none fit.
0.94.133
September 27, 2026
- NewA warning when your ride will run past sunset or start before sunrise, with a "leave by" time. It shows under the weather's Daylight line and on the GPS Mode route preview.
- NewA night map for turn-by-turn. Auto switches at sunset and sunrise, or pick Day or Night from the button under the voice button or in Settings.
- UpdateThe privacy policy now spells out what bug reports and error reports contain, the weather, fuel-lookup, payment and bug-tracker services we use, and what syncs to your account. Bug reports are deleted within 90 days after the issue is fixed.
0.94.132
September 26, 2026
- FasterThe app opens sooner when your signal is slow.
- FasterThe map uses much less data on winding roads and in town.
- FasterMap labels now load from our own site and keep working offline after your first visit.
- FasterThe map now starts even when you reopen the app with no signal.
- FixedAfter unlocking your phone on weak signal, the map could reload every piece of the map instead of just the missing ones.
0.94.131
September 26, 2026
- FasterSigned in, the app now uses less data and makes fewer requests when it opens and when you switch screens.
- FixedRides recorded in GPS Mode now sync to your account like rides from the rest of the app.
0.94.130
September 25, 2026
- FixedOff the route on a street beside it, the way back now takes the next street across instead of doubling back a block or looping round one to reach the route level with you.
- FixedA way back that meets the route at a corner no longer sends you round a loop to arrive from the far side of the junction.
0.94.129
September 25, 2026
- FixedA ride no longer picks up lean data from an earlier ride of the same trip that never ended. It could carry that ride's max lean, distance and graph into the new one.
- FixedTaking the phone off its mount no longer counts as a max lean.
- ImprovedA ride started with the bike on its sidestand now reads upright within a couple of seconds of pulling away, instead of carrying the stand's tilt into the first corners.
0.94.128
September 24, 2026
- ImprovedPass-through stops no longer show on the map during a ride. They only shape the route, so the map now pins just the stops you're actually riding to. They still show in the planner.
0.94.127
September 24, 2026
- NewRide Now remembers where you ride. Places you ride to show up as recents, and you can save up to three as named favorites, like Home or Coffee. Pick one from the list or the map to ride there. Signed in, they follow you to your other devices.
- ImprovedRide Now is now one map. Search sits at the bottom within thumb reach, and the route preview, Make changes and the wait for GPS after Go all happen on the same map.
0.94.126
September 23, 2026
- FixedLean angle now resets to upright on the straights between corners, as it was always meant to. Road vibration was stopping it from ever recognising a straight, so a few degrees of error could build up and stay for a whole ride.
0.94.125
September 23, 2026
- ImprovedWhen you leave the route, the way back now joins it ahead of you in the direction you're riding, instead of at the nearest point beside or behind you, which used to mean a loop round the block.
- ImprovedIf the way back still comes out as a loop, Roadbook tries rejoining further along the route, then lets the route turn you around, before giving up. A way back that crosses its own path is treated as a loop too.
- FixedWhere a route passes the same road twice, a GPS reading closer to the later pass no longer jumps the directions, distance left and arrival time ahead to it.
0.94.124
September 23, 2026
- FixedLean angle no longer creeps while you're stopped with the engine idling. A stop at a light could add a lean of 40° or more that never happened and record it as your ride's maximum. While you're stopped, the phone now reads the lean from gravity, so leaning on the sidestand or a foot still shows correctly.
0.94.123
September 23, 2026
- FixedParking within 40 m of your destination now ends the ride even after a reroute, and even when the route ends somewhere other than the pin, such as a parking lot behind the building.
- FixedAfter a reroute, the distance left and the arrival time no longer count the part of the route you've already passed, and the next turn shown after the detour is the right one.
- ImprovedRoadbook no longer offers a detour more than five times the straight-line distance back to your route, such as a loop around the block to reach a driveway you just missed.
0.94.122
September 23, 2026
- FixedWhen the forecast has no temperature or conditions for a point on your route, its weather card now says "unknown" instead of showing 32°F (0°C) and clear skies.
- ImprovedIf the weather service doesn't answer, Roadbook tries twice more before saying the weather is unavailable.
- ImprovedA forecast is reused for 30 minutes instead of 10, so going back to a route you've already checked doesn't fetch it again.
0.94.121
September 23, 2026
- ImprovedWhen a route can't be built, a message now pops up saying so, instead of a small line of text under the Trip Summary. That line ("Ready", "Building route…") is gone.
- FixedThe weather panel no longer says "Weather is unavailable right now" for a moment each time a new route appears. It could also get stuck on that message, or on "Checking the forecast…", after reopening a saved ride or finishing a ride. It now says "Checking the forecast…" until the cards arrive.
- FixedWhile a route is still being worked out, the weather panel no longer asks you to add stops you've already added.
0.94.120
September 23, 2026
- ImprovedThe mi/km switch moved from the Trip Summary to Settings in the account menu, and Roadbook now remembers your choice on this device while you're signed in. Signed out, distances are in miles.
0.94.119
September 22, 2026
- ImprovedRides in the planner's Rides list now look like your Saved rides: the date in bold, the figures below it, and the ✕ inside the card.
0.94.118
September 22, 2026
- ImprovedThe times above the weather cards no longer start with a "~".
0.94.117
September 22, 2026
- NewYou can now delete a recorded ride: tap the ✕ beside it in the planner's Rides list. Its figures, graphs and path are removed, and if you're signed in, from your account and your other devices too. A ride deleted offline is removed from your account the next time you're online.
0.94.116
September 22, 2026
- FixedThe weather "Leave at" picker is now a day list (Today, Tomorrow, and the rest of the week) and a time list in 15-minute steps. It works the same in every browser, so you can always choose the time, not just the date. It also only offers times that haven't passed yet: switching to AM used to pick a time earlier today, which was ignored.
0.94.115
September 22, 2026
- ImprovedTrip times now allow 15 minutes at each stop along the way, everywhere a time is shown: the Trip Summary (with a note of how much is for stops), each leg, your saved rides, the GPS-mode route preview, the ETA while navigating, and the weather cards, so the forecast further down the route lines up with when you'll really get there. Pass-through stops add no time.
0.94.114
September 22, 2026
- NewWeather cards now show the forecast for when you'll actually reach each point along the route, not the weather there right now. Each card is labelled with your estimated arrival time. Pick a departure time with the new "Leave at" control, up to a week ahead; it starts at Now.
0.94.113
September 22, 2026
- FixedA shared ride opened without signing in could show its stops but no route line. The route is now drawn as soon as the app finishes its quick background check, instead of giving up if the route was asked for first.
0.94.112
September 22, 2026
- FixedOpening a shared ride link on a phone now goes straight to the shared ride, without the "How are you riding today?" screen first, and no longer asks for your location. The map also now zooms to the shared route instead of opening somewhere else.
0.94.111
September 22, 2026
- FixedSetting up turn-by-turn and then taking a few minutes to gear up could flip directions to a later part of the route that happens to pass nearby (on a loop from home, "arriving home"). Directions now only move ahead once you're actually riding that part of the route in its direction.
0.94.110
September 22, 2026
- FixedStarting a loop ride from home could make the app think you'd left the route while you were still in the driveway. It then "rerouted" you around the block straight back home, dropping the whole ride. A rider standing near the route is no longer treated as off it.
- FixedWhen a ride really does start away from the route, the way back now leads to the start of your trip, not to whichever part of it passes closest (on a loop, that's the last leg home).
- FixedA single GPS wobble near a later part of the route could jump turn-by-turn ahead to it, such as "arriving home" at the start of a loop. That now has to hold for a few seconds first.
0.94.109
September 22, 2026
- FixedStarting a ride close to one of the trip's stops (say, a first stop just down the street from home) could pop up "You've arrived" for that stop within seconds, before you'd gone anywhere. A stop now only counts as reached after you've actually ridden away from it first, and GPS wobble while you're standing still no longer counts as leaving.
- FixedAfter a reroute, riding back onto the planned route could itself show "You've arrived" for an unnamed stop, and a stop you'd already continued from could pop up again. Neither happens now.
0.94.108
September 22, 2026
- FixedThe rider indicator on the turn-by-turn map was drawn in the same green as the route line itself, so it could all but disappear right on top of the road you're riding. It now sits inside a light casing ring that stays visible against the route in any light.
0.94.107
September 22, 2026
- FixedOn a route whose legs pass close to each other (a loop back near home, an out-and-back), starting the ride could briefly show "arrived" or the wrong turn — the very first GPS fix was sometimes read as being on a later leg just because that leg's line happened to be nearby. Turn-by-turn now waits for that to actually be confirmed before believing it.
0.94.105
September 22, 2026
- FixedOn a touchscreen, click-dragging a route leg to reshape it could also drop an extra stop at the release point on top of the correct reshape. Dragging a leg now only ever does the one thing.
0.94.104
September 21, 2026
- FixedA touch interrupted mid-drag while reshaping a route (for example, an iOS system gesture taking over) could leave the map unable to pan until reloaded. It now cleans up properly and drops no stop.
- ImprovedTouch diagnostics (Unlimited) now notes in the copied log when a gesture was intercepted in a way the recorder cannot see directly, so a clean-looking log isn’t mistaken for proof nothing happened.
0.94.103
September 21, 2026
- FixedPinching to zoom the map, when the midpoint between your two fingers was on the route line, could drop a new stop instead of zooming. A pinch is now always a pinch. Dragging the route line with one finger to reshape it works as before.
0.94.102
September 21, 2026
- ImprovedThe Report a Bug description box now accepts up to 10,000 characters (was 4,000), so a long pasted log is no longer cut off partway through.
0.94.101
September 21, 2026
- NewTouch diagnostics for Unlimited riders, in the account menu. It records where and how the screen is touched, which part of the app received each touch, and whether the app cancelled or swallowed it, so a touch problem on a phone can be pasted into a bug report as text instead of described from memory. It keeps no text, inputs or screenshots, and nothing leaves your phone unless you copy or share the log.
0.94.100
September 20, 2026
- NewTurn-by-turn navigation now follows you one map zoom level closer at every speed. Street riding (up to 30 mph) sits at a tighter view, 30–50 mph one step back from that, and highway speeds a wider overview that is still one level closer than before.
0.94.99
September 20, 2026
- FixedA saved ride’s figures (lean, G-force and speed) not reaching another device when the ride was recorded earlier than a newer one but synced later, for example a ride made with no signal. This is the same clock problem the last update fixed for saved routes, now fixed for ride figures too. Tested with simulated devices and against a copy of the database; not yet checked on a phone.
0.94.98
September 20, 2026
- FixedSaved rides going missing on another device for good. The last fix made a phone check every ride each time it was opened, but a phone left open could still miss a ride saved elsewhere. Sync now follows a counter kept by the cloud rather than each device’s own clock, so a ride or a delete reaches every signed-in device however old its own timestamp is. Tested with simulated devices and against a copy of the database; not yet checked on a phone.
0.94.97
September 20, 2026
- FixedSaved rides made on one device not showing up on another, even though both said they were up to date. Each device remembered how far it had synced by the time on whichever device saved a ride, so a ride uploaded later with an older time than that was never fetched again. The first sync after you open the app or sign in now checks every ride. Tested with two simulated devices; not yet checked on a phone. A phone left open for days can still miss a ride until it is next opened.
0.94.96
September 19, 2026
- FixedA "Redo Typing" box popping up on an iPhone mid-ride with nobody touching it. Handlebar vibration triggers the iPhone's shake gesture, and the app's earlier clean-up made it offer "Redo Typing" instead of "Undo Typing" rather than offering nothing. Both are now cleared when a ride starts, and again when the bug report form closes. Checked in the iOS Simulator with the shake gesture: it showed the alert before and nothing after. Not yet confirmed on a phone on a bike.
0.94.95
September 19, 2026
- NewA bug report filed during a ride now shows the route you actually rode next to what a reroute told you to do. It carries a thinned trail of your recent GPS fixes, and for each reroute the line it drew and the turns it announced. Before, a report could say a reroute looped you round a block but not whether you followed it.
0.94.94
September 19, 2026
- FixedLean angle recovers faster after a hard jolt on a rough road. A sharp bump could leave the reading 15° or more off while the bike was upright, and it stayed that way because the check that pulls it back never got a clear enough moment to act. It now acts sooner and tolerates a bumpy road. Replayed over four real rides, the time spent more than 15° off dropped by a third to two thirds. Peak lean is still the least reliable figure, and the app will report the safety check acting more often than before.
0.94.93
September 18, 2026
- FixedLean angle no longer creeps to about 10° while you sit upright at a light. The phone's gyroscope drift was measured from only the first second and a half of a ride and never checked again; on a real ride that snapshot was wrong, and the error built up every time you stopped. It is now refined at every stop where the bike stays put, and a bike being rolled slowly is never mistaken for drift. On two real rides where the drift had been mismeasured, the standing offset dropped from about 8–9° to about 2°.
0.94.92
September 15, 2026
- FixedWhen you attach a ride's sensor recording to a bug report, the tickbox now says it includes altitude. It never includes where you were, and it still doesn't — but the recording started carrying the road's height in 0.94.91 and the wording hadn't caught up.
0.94.91
September 15, 2026
- FixedLean angle no longer runs away to 90° on a rough road. The check that holds the reading to what the corner's forces actually allow was being switched off and reset by every bump, so it almost never got to act; it now rides out the bumps. On two real mountain rides this brought the peaks back from 90° to figures that match the cornering force measured alongside them.
0.94.90
September 15, 2026
- FixedIf you leave your route and make your own way back toward it, turn-by-turn now lets you get there instead of drawing a new way back — often a lap around a block — every few seconds. Turning away from the route still gets you a new way back straight away.
0.94.89
September 15, 2026
- NewIf you're signed in with cloud sync, your saved rides' figures — lean angle, G-forces, max and average speed, distance — now follow your account to your other devices. The lean graphs and the path you rode stay on the phone that recorded them.
0.94.88
September 15, 2026
- NewRides that record lean angle now keep your max and average speed. They show when you end a ride or arrive, in a trip's Rides panel, on the trip summary and on saved-ride cards. Stops don't count toward the average.
- FixedThe Privacy Policy said you could export saved rides in the app, which wasn't possible. It now says what the app does: you can delete them.
0.94.87
September 15, 2026
- NewOpen a ride in a trip's Rides panel to see the path you rode on the map, colored by how far you were leaned, with your hardest corners pinned. Drag along a graph to see where on the map that point was.
0.94.86
September 14, 2026
- NewA trip now keeps every ride you record on it, not only the last one. Open the trip's Rides panel to see each ride's lean angle and G-forces graphed along the road.
- NewA recorded ride also keeps the path you rode, on this device only. It is never uploaded or shared, and leaves out the first and last 300 m.
0.94.85
September 14, 2026
- ImprovedG-forces now come from your phone's own motion sensors instead of GPS speed, so hard braking and cornering are measured as they happen.
- FixedLean angle could drift to figures no motorcycle reaches. When the recorded lean strays far from what your phone's sensors say the bike can be doing, it is now pulled back.
- ImprovedBug reports can include a recording of your phone's motion sensors during the ride (no location), to help work out lean and G readings. You can leave it off.
- FixedStarting a ride on a page left open since before an update could show "Something went wrong" instead of reloading into the new version.
0.94.84
September 14, 2026
- FixedArriving somewhere with a weak signal could reload Roadbook and lose the Arrival screen and the ride's lean figures. The Arrival screen now loads as a ride starts, and the app no longer reloads itself during a ride.
- ImprovedBug reports now include rides that were never properly ended — after the app reloaded, for example — so their lean data can still be looked at.
0.94.83
September 14, 2026
- ImprovedBug reports filed after a ride now compare two ways your phone can measure acceleration and braking. This is groundwork for possibly more accurate G-force figures; nothing you see changes yet.
0.94.82
September 14, 2026
- FixedEnding a free ride no longer says you've ridden 0.0 mi. The End-ride and Arrival dialogs now show the distance you actually rode, including detours off the planned route.
0.94.81
September 14, 2026
- NewThe End-ride and Arrival dialogs graph your lean across the ride by distance, with your hardest left and right marked, and show both peaks in one graphic.
- ImprovedThe End-ride and Arrival buttons stay at the bottom of the dialog, so you never have to scroll to reach them.
0.94.80
September 14, 2026
- ImprovedThe G-force figures now show on the End-ride and Arrival dialogs from the start of a ride, with a dash until you've ridden enough to measure them.
0.94.79
September 14, 2026
- NewLean angle now also records the ride's peak G-forces: hardest acceleration, hardest braking, and hardest cornering left and right. They show with the lean figures after a ride, on the planner, and on saved rides.
0.94.78
September 13, 2026
- ImprovedBug reports filed after a ride now say how steady your phone's GPS altitude was. This is groundwork for making lean angle more accurate on hills; nothing about lean angle changes yet.
0.94.77
September 13, 2026
- FixedLean angle now copes with a vibrating phone. On a shaking mount it could stop recalibrating itself altogether, so the reading slowly wandered off over a ride; it now keeps itself on track and settles its sensor correction even when the bike is idling.
0.94.76
September 13, 2026
- FixedBraking and accelerating no longer throw off lean angle. Braking into or through a corner could leave a false lean on the other side, and pulling away into a corner could over-read it. It also now corrects itself if you settle your phone into its mount after starting a ride.
0.94.75
September 13, 2026
- FixedOn a phone mount that holds the screen tilted back or nearly flat, leaning the bike while stopped no longer leaves a few degrees of lean showing after you stand it back up.
0.94.74
September 13, 2026
- FixedLean angle now reads your phone’s motion sensor correctly. It had been reading the sensor’s axes in the wrong order, so tipping or turning the phone could count as lean, and a real lean could land on the wrong side or barely register. That was never a left/right mix-up, so the “Left and right swapped? Tap to fix” button is gone, and any swap you set with it has been cleared.
0.94.73
September 12, 2026
- FixedLean angle no longer tries to work out by itself which way your phone reports its motion sensors. That guess was getting it wrong on some phones and then sticking, which is worse than not guessing. Lean now uses the standard convention, and if your phone is one of the odd ones out, the “Left and right swapped? Tap to fix” button under the lean numbers sets it right for good — one tap, once.
0.94.72
September 12, 2026
- FixedLean angle could still come out the wrong way round — this time because of the fix before it. If you tapped “Left and right swapped?” while the old drift bug was showing nonsense numbers, Roadbook saved that correction permanently, and kept applying it after the drift bug was fixed. Corrections saved by those older versions are now discarded, so your phone starts fresh.
0.94.71
September 12, 2026
- FixedLean angle could run away and show an impossible 90° one way and 0° the other. Every phone’s gyroscope drifts slightly, and Roadbook was only able to correct for that drift if it was already small — on a phone that drifted more, the correction never kicked in and the reading climbed until it hit its limit. Roadbook now measures your phone’s drift while the bike is still stationary, before the ride starts, so it can correct for any amount of it.
- FixedIf the lean reading ever does go wrong that way again, Roadbook now shows nothing at all rather than an impossible number, and won’t save it to your ride history.
0.94.70
September 12, 2026
- FixedLean angle could still record left and right the wrong way round. The check added in the last release was rarely getting a chance to run: it needed the bike leaned over while barely moving, and Roadbook only started listening once it had a GPS fix — by which point you were already rolling. It now starts listening the moment you tap Go, so pulling the bike off the sidestand is enough, and it remembers the answer for your phone instead of working it out again every ride.
- NewIf lean angle still comes out backwards, there is now a “Left and right swapped? Tap to fix” button under the lean numbers when you end a ride. One tap corrects the ride you just did and every ride after it.
0.94.69
September 12, 2026
- FixedLean angle could record left and right the wrong way round, depending on the phone. Roadbook now works out how your particular phone reports its motion sensors at the start of each ride, instead of assuming, and corrects anything it had already measured.
0.94.68
September 12, 2026
- NewLean angle. With your phone mounted on the bars, Roadbook can now measure how far you leaned and show you the numbers once you've stopped — furthest lean left, furthest right, and your average — on the end-of-ride summary, on the arrival screen, and afterwards on the ride itself. Nothing appears while you're moving: it's deliberately not something to glance at mid-corner. Available to Unlimited riders. Everything is measured and stored on your own phone.
0.94.67
September 3, 2026
- FixedAutomatic fuel suggestions now follow the tank range you set, load faster, and no longer vanish when the map's fuel-station service has a brief hiccup.
- New"Find Gas near this stop" is now available to Subscribers, not just Unlimited riders.
- FixedWhen a new version of Roadbook ships while you have it open, the app now refreshes itself once instead of a button quietly doing nothing.
0.94.66
September 3, 2026
- FixedIn Suggest a ride, the target loop distance box no longer starts with a stuck "0" you couldn't delete, and it won't accept a number above 500.
0.94.65
September 3, 2026
- FixedTapping a route leg on the planner map now opens its ride options instead of dropping a new stop, and the leg is easier to hit.
0.94.64
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedEvery place-search box — the planner, GPS Mode's destination screens, and the home-address editor — now shares the same field: a search icon, an in-progress spinner, and a clear (✕) button.
0.94.63
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedThe place search now has a clear (✕) button whenever the field has text — on every browser and device, not just desktop — and the loading spinner tucks in just to its left.
0.94.62
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedTuned where the place search's loading spinner sits so it lines up consistently across browsers and devices.
0.94.61
September 2, 2026
- ImprovedThe place search now shows a small spinner at the right of the field while it's looking up a place, so a slow lookup no longer looks like nothing is happening.
0.94.60
September 2, 2026
- FixedVoice guidance no longer repeats the current turn instruction every time you glance at another app, wake the screen, or open the bug reporter mid-ride. Coming back to Roadbook now only re-speaks a cue that was actually missed while you were away.
0.94.59
September 2, 2026
- FixedTurn-by-turn voice no longer goes silent for the rest of a ride after you switch away from Roadbook, take a call, lock the phone, or file a bug report — voice guidance now recovers on its own when you come back, instead of needing a mute/unmute to wake it up.
0.94.58
September 2, 2026
- FixedPinch-to-zoom on the planner map no longer drops a stop where your fingers were — the map now reliably tells a two-finger zoom apart from a deliberate tap.
- ImprovedReport a Bug is now one tap from the planner map too — not just the account menu and the navigation screen.
- ImprovedA bug report can now carry several screenshots instead of just one.
0.94.57
September 1, 2026
- FixedTurn-by-turn voice no longer says the same "Continue for N miles" instruction twice on a long highway stretch.
- ImprovedThe GPS navigation map now sits one zoom level closer at every speed, so the road ahead is easier to read.
0.94.56
August 31, 2026
- FasterOpening “Suggested Roads” or “Suggested Ride” no longer downloads several megabytes of road-shape data up front — only the roads actually on your screen are fetched, so the map lines appear without the pause.
- FasterThe rated-roads list itself loads from a much smaller file now; a road’s full scores and notes load the moment you tap it open.
- FasterTrimmed the stylesheet the app loads on first open, and it now connects to the routing service a beat sooner.
0.94.55
August 30, 2026
- FasterSyncing a large library of saved rides between devices, and saving a long or multi-leg route, both do less work.
- FasterImporting a very large GPX activity file no longer briefly freezes the app while it reads every recorded point.
0.94.54
August 27, 2026
- FixedIf the route reroutes you mid-ride and your phone then drops the tab, resuming now picks up the rerouted line instead of the original one.
0.94.53
August 27, 2026
- FasterDragging a stop that snaps to a road now tracks your finger smoothly on busy city maps instead of stuttering.
- FasterOpening the app to the "How are you riding today?" screen no longer does planner background work before you've picked a mode.
- FasterLess background work during turn-by-turn, especially right after the route reroutes you.
0.94.52
August 27, 2026
- FasterThe app now shows its interface sooner on a cold start and only downloads the map when you actually open one, so the first load is noticeably lighter — especially on a phone.
- FasterPanning and zooming the planner map, and opening a Suggested Ride while nearby roads are still loading, are smoother.
0.94.51
August 26, 2026
- FixThe account menu no longer gets hidden behind the open sidebar on mobile.
- NewIf your browser sends a "do not track" signal, you can now explicitly turn "Share anonymous usage data" back on in Settings instead of it being stuck off.
0.94.50
August 26, 2026
- NewFinishing a ride now drops you into Free Ride — live tracking with no destination — shown as a dialog over the live map, instead of back to the planner with the just-finished route still loaded. If you don't respond, it continues on its own after a short wait rather than sitting there indefinitely.
- FixReport a Bug (and other dialogs) no longer leaves the header stuck above the fold on iPhone after closing them.
- FixThe Upgrade button now stays disabled until your subscription is confirmed, instead of letting you start a second checkout while the first is still going through.
- FixVoice directions now reliably start on your very first ride of a session, not just the second one.
0.94.49
August 24, 2026
- FixTapping your own location on the planning map (and the area right around it) now works, instead of the tap being silently ignored.
- FixTurn-by-turn's on-screen turn icon now matches the spoken instruction at highway forks — it used to sometimes show the wrong direction while the voice said the correct one.
- FixIf the route preview map ever fails to load, you'll see a message explaining that instead of a silent blank map.
0.94.48
August 23, 2026
- FixSearch now finds well-known places (a city like Denver, or a state park) even when a nearby street or business happens to share the name — it used to only show the local matches and drop the actual place you were looking for.
- FixThe stop search box no longer mixes leftover text from an abandoned search into whatever you type next.
- FixSearch results no longer show the same place listed twice.
- FixOn mobile, the planning panel no longer occasionally closes itself right after you open it.
- NewAdmin panel: Cache tab listing every cache TTL and cap (operators only).
0.94.47
August 23, 2026
- NewCreating an account now sends a one-time welcome email — not a newsletter, just a note that your rides can follow you across devices.
0.94.46
August 18, 2026
- NewDragging a pin you just dropped now shows a live road name and can hand it off to a nearby leg as you move it, and a pin dropped on a highway can offer to "Stay on" that road so the rest of the route still avoids highways as usual.
0.94.45
August 18, 2026
- FixSuggest a ride's loop-distance field now uses kilometres when Ride Setup is set to metric — it used to keep miles in the box while labelling the field "km".
- NewThe first-visit welcome screen title is now just "Roadbook" — no "Welcome to."
0.94.44
August 18, 2026
- FixPlace search was briefly broken (results wouldn't appear) after an internal change to how it talks to our search provider — reverted, and search works normally again.
0.94.43
August 17, 2026
- NewIf you go off-route on a long, deliberate detour, Roadbook now offers a handful of return-path suggestions at a decaying pace rather than asking forever — after about a minute of being ignored it stops asking and switches to "Free ride," where it just follows your position with a one-tap Recalculate button whenever you want a new route back.
- FixPlace search no longer double-charges on a flaky connection.
0.94.42
August 17, 2026
- FixRedrew the "take this exit" icon in turn-by-turn — it used to curve downward into its arrow, which read as "turn/double back" rather than "the highway keeps going while you peel off." It now matches the on-ramp icon's up-and-right shape.
0.94.41
August 17, 2026
- FixSome freeway on-ramps showed a plain turn-arrow icon in turn-by-turn even though the spoken instruction correctly said "take the ramp" or "take exit" — the icon and the voice were reading two different fields from the routing engine that could disagree. The icon now defers to the spoken wording when they conflict.
0.94.40
August 16, 2026
- NewAdded a "Report a Bug" button to the account menu for Admin and Unlimited riders — files a short Title/Description form straight into the bug tracker.
0.94.39
August 16, 2026
- NewVoice guidance now says "Rerouting." as soon as a reroute starts, instead of staying silent until the new directions are ready.
0.94.38
August 16, 2026
- NewVoice guidance now says "You've arrived." the moment you reach your final stop.
- FixEnding a ride could leave the planner map centered on a stale GPS fix — most noticeable on an out-and-back route, where it could look like the map had jumped back to the start. It now re-centers on your current location.
0.94.37
August 15, 2026
- NewRedesigned the Tank Range control as a drag-to-set gauge slider, with the "how this works" explanation moved into an info tooltip next to the label.
- NewA glowing green location ping now shows your current position on the Planner map.
- NewThe account/sign-in bar is now available on the mode chooser and throughout planner-started navigation, not just the main planner screen — so your plan and sync stay available before you ever open GPS Mode.
- FixFuel stop suggestions could linger well beyond your set Tank Range, and dragging the Tank Range slider sometimes appeared to do nothing until the page was refreshed.
- FixThe Resume Ride banner is no longer hidden behind the mobile Mode Chooser when you have a ride to resume.
- FixGPS Mode's rider marker sits further into the lower third of the screen, matching the intended navigation framing.
- FixGPS Mode's own screens no longer briefly pick up the Planner's sign-in bar chrome.
- FixThe Welcome screen now shows the Roadbook app icon instead of a generic placeholder.
- FixThe Open-Meteo weather-data credit now always shows in the sidebar footer, matching the other map/data attributions.
0.94.36
August 14, 2026
- FixReplacing a stop with a gas station via "Find Gas Near This Stop" now updates the map pin to the fuel icon right away, instead of leaving the old pictogram showing.
0.94.35
August 14, 2026
- Fix"Find Gas Near This Stop" now shows only the 5 nearest stations, each labeled with its distance from your stop (e.g. "1.2mi - Chevron"), so you can tell at a glance how far each option actually is.
0.94.34
August 14, 2026
- FixOpening a saved ride no longer rebuilds the whole route from scratch when the stored line still matches your stops and preferences.
- NewIf you leave the route while navigating, Roadbook finds a short way back onto the original line instead of replacing it with a new path to the next stop.
- FixSuggested Roads map lines now come from the catalog ingest instead of routing every visible road live — turning the layer on no longer spikes routing usage.
0.94.33
August 14, 2026
- Fix"Find Gas Near This Stop" now shows nearby stations as a single dropdown with one "Add as stop" / "Replace stop" pair, instead of a separate button pair stacked under every station.
0.94.32
August 14, 2026
- Fix"Find Gas Near This Stop" now searches a wider area and no longer offers the stop's own location back as its only "option" — you'll actually see a real set of nearby stations to choose from.
0.94.31
August 14, 2026
- NewUnlimited riders can now tap "Find Gas Near This Stop" on any stop's popup to see nearby gas stations and add one as a new stop or swap it in for the stop itself.
0.94.30
August 14, 2026
- FixTurn-by-turn voice now says how far away the next maneuver is — turn left, turn right, take the exit, merge, U-turn — instead of a bare instruction that sounded like now when it was still half a mile up the road.
0.94.29
August 13, 2026
- FixDropped pins and dragged route lines now snap onto the road you tapped — using the map tiles already on screen, so it works without the mapping-provider snap endpoint that was still blocked. Routes no longer jump onto driveways or the wrong side of a divided road just because the tap landed a few pixels off the line.
0.94.28
August 13, 2026
- FixA loop ride no longer ends itself early just because the route passes near the ending pin before the ride is actually finished.
0.94.27
August 13, 2026
- FixPinch-to-zoom on iPhone no longer drops a stray stop at the pinch point.
0.94.26
August 13, 2026
- NewZooming out or panning outside the contiguous US now shows a real world map (best-effort, online only). Offline map download still covers the lower 48.
0.94.25
August 13, 2026
- Update"Sync Saved Rides" and "Save This Ride" now live at the top of the Saved Rides panel instead of above it — same actions, tidier sidebar.
0.94.24
August 13, 2026
- Update"Suggest a ride" now opens as its own dialog instead of a permanent sidebar panel — tap the title to open it, same place it's always been.
0.94.23
August 12, 2026
- FixOn a shared device, signing in as a different rider no longer shows the previous rider's saved Home address — Home is now cleared whenever the signed-in account changes.
0.94.22
August 12, 2026
- UpdateHome now opens as its own dialog — from a new "Set Home" in the account menu, or the same button next to Starting Point — instead of a permanent sidebar panel, freeing up room while you're building a route. Starting Point also gained its own search bar for picking a start directly; the general search below it now only appears once your ride actually has a starting point.
0.94.21
August 12, 2026
- NewImport a GPX file — pick one from the Saved Rides panel and Roadbook loads it as your working trip, ready to edit. Works with tracks, routes, or waypoints; a long recorded track gets simplified down to a reasonable number of stops so it stays fully editable. Signed-in riders only.
0.94.20
August 11, 2026
- New"Suggest a ride" — enter a target loop distance and a return point (Saved Home, current location, or a search result), and Roadbook proposes a ride that loops back to it. It prefers stitching together Suggested Roads when the catalog can support your distance, and falls back to a back-roads loop (with highways avoided) when it can't. Preview it, try another, and Accept replaces your current trip with the proposed one — Unlimited plan only for now.
0.94.19
August 10, 2026
- FixOn the turn-by-turn screen, the ETA and distance-left tiles now show the number first and the label below it, matching how the speed tile already reads. All three tiles (plus MPH) also lost their card background/border — they now sit flush on the bar — and every number in the bar is a bit larger.
0.94.18
August 10, 2026
- FixYour Starting Point pin no longer pulses with a glow after you drop it. That effect is still used when you locate a journal entry on the map — it just no longer fires automatically on every new route.
0.94.17
August 10, 2026
- New"Default Routing Settings" — the avoid-highways / paved / tolls / ferries toggles, formerly the sidebar's collapsible "Ride setup" panel — now live in the account menu, just below Settings.
0.94.16
August 10, 2026
- FixThe ride-name / Share / New / Save bar moved down in the sidebar, to just above "Save This Ride" — it used to sit at the very top.
0.94.15
August 10, 2026
- Fix"Contact Me" moved down in the account menu, to just above Sign out, and is now labeled "Contact Developer."
0.94.14
August 10, 2026
- NewSign out now matches the styling of the other account menu rows. Settings is now its own row that opens a dedicated panel, holding "Share anonymous usage data" and "Delete account."
0.94.13
August 10, 2026
- FeatureContact Me — open from the sidebar footer or account menu. Messages go to Jeremy via email (Turnstile bot check). Hidden until the contact Worker is configured.
0.94.12
August 10, 2026
- FixIn turn-by-turn GPS Mode, the rider puck sits nearer the bottom of the map so more of the road ahead stays in view.
- FixChoosing Planner Mode on a phone now flies the map to your current location when location is available, instead of leaving you on the default map center.
0.94.11
August 10, 2026
- FixThe ride Journal is Subscriber-only for now — Free accounts no longer see the Journal panel (cap is 0; Subscriber stays at 500).
0.94.10
August 10, 2026
- FixTurn-by-turn distance, speed, ETA, and remaining distance now use the same Inter body font as the rest of the screen instead of Space Mono (which put a dot in the middle of zeros).
0.94.9
August 10, 2026
- FixSetting a starting point that isn’t already on screen (Use my location, Use home, or search) now flies the map to that stop instead of leaving you looking at the old area.
0.94.8
August 10, 2026
- FixEnding a ride no longer snaps the planner map back to the Bay Area — it stays on your last GPS position (or final stop) so you keep seeing your local area.
0.94.7
August 10, 2026
- FeatureTurn-by-turn map zoom now follows your speed — street-close up to 30 mph, a step out through 50 mph, and a wider highway view above that.
0.94.6
August 10, 2026
- FixOn phones that support it (mainly iPhone), turn-by-turn voice now asks to play as exclusive navigation prompts, so guidance is less likely to stay silent when the ringer Silent switch is on.
0.94.5
August 10, 2026
- Feature"Start My Ride" is now a floating button on the map (not buried in the sidebar). With nothing planned yet, it opens destination search; with a route ready, it starts turn-by-turn.
- FixStarting a ride no longer dumps two or three turn instructions at once. Voice says "Starting ride" to confirm guidance is on, then holds turn cues for a few seconds so the queue can catch up cleanly.
0.94.4
August 8, 2026
- FixDouble-tapping the map to zoom in could also drop a stop at the tap point (or, with a stop's popup open, close it and then drop one). Double-tap now only zooms, like everywhere else on the map.
0.94.3
August 8, 2026
- FixYou can no longer drop or drag a stop onto open water (ocean, lake, pond) — the map now quietly refuses instead of leaving a pin stranded somewhere unrideable.
0.94.2
August 8, 2026
- FixRemoved the "Sync Saved Rides" button for signed-in riders — cloud sync already runs automatically on every save and reconnect, so it never did anything the app wasn't already doing. Signing in still shows a "Sign in to Sync Rides to Cloud" prompt for anyone not yet signed in.
0.94.1
August 8, 2026
- NewRide stats moved out of the Sidebar and into the account menu (top right) — click "Ride stats" to see them in a popup instead of having them take up space in your saved rides list.
0.94.0
August 8, 2026
- NewFuel stop suggestions (Unlimited): set a tank range in Settings and Roadbook will mark suggested fuel stops on the map before you run low, with an "Add as fuel stop" button on each one. Suggestion-only for now — nothing is added to your route unless you tap it.
- FixA stop dropped near a divided highway could occasionally route you in a strange loop to approach it from the wrong direction. Routing now infers the direction you're traveling through each stop and uses it to pick the correct side of the road.
0.93.0
August 7, 2026
- NewRide Now's "Make Changes" button now opens a real edit screen: change your destination, toggle ride settings, or jump to Planning Mode with your route already filled in. It used to just delete your destination and send you back to search.
0.92.31
August 7, 2026
- FixUndo didn't cover adding a stop via search, "Return Home", "Back to Start", or GPS Mode's own search/current-location — only a map-click pin drop. Now it does.
0.92.30
August 7, 2026
- FixUndo only worked for dropping a pin. It now also undoes removing a stop, reordering stops, and dragging an existing pin to a new spot.
0.92.29
August 7, 2026
- FixSearching for a place with an apostrophe (like "Alice's") could return zero results on iPhone — the keyboard's autocorrect substitutes a curly apostrophe that didn't match our search index. Fixed.
0.92.28
August 7, 2026
- UpdateThe "GPS Mode" button on the opening screen is now called "Ride Now".
0.92.27
August 7, 2026
- FixThe signed-in account button in the top bar sat flush against the header's edges — added a hair of breathing room above and below.
0.92.26
August 7, 2026
- UpdateRedesigned the account menu (top right) — your plan and sync status now live together at the top, "Upgrade" replaces the old two-button setup, and Sign out/Delete account are grouped together at the bottom.
0.92.25
August 7, 2026
- UpdateThe Paid plan is now called "Subscriber" throughout the app and on the upgrade page — same plan, clearer name.
0.92.24
August 6, 2026
- FixThe "A new version of Roadbook is ready" banner's Reload button sometimes did nothing — the background update process was activating itself before you ever got to click it. Reload now works reliably.
0.92.23
August 6, 2026
- NewThe account menu (top right) now has a Settings section. "Share anonymous usage data" moved there from the bottom of the sidebar, and Delete Account moved there from loose at the bottom of the menu.
0.92.22
August 6, 2026
- FixThe sidebar no longer shows an empty "Saved rides" panel with just a "Saved rides appear here" placeholder — it now stays hidden until you've actually saved a ride, matching how the Stops and Journal panels already behave.
0.92.21
August 6, 2026
- FixAdjusted the weather-card counts from the last update — signed-out use now shows 3 (was 2) and Free shows 4 (was 3); Paid/Unlimited stays at 8.
0.92.20
August 6, 2026
- NewThe sidebar's weather-along-your-route strip now shows more forecast points on Paid/Unlimited plans (8) than Free (3) or signed-out use (2) — see the comparison table on the Upgrade page.
0.92.19
August 5, 2026
- FixSearch sometimes wouldn't show a place until you typed its entire name — an earlier empty response for a partially-typed search (e.g. "Alice's rest") could get stuck cached, so retyping the same partial name kept coming up empty even after the place existed for a longer version of the same search. Search results no longer get cached when empty.
0.92.18
August 5, 2026
- FixPolished the new GPS Mode route preview — the destination-search and preview screens now center vertically instead of sitting near the top, and the "go back" button reads "Make Changes."
0.92.17
August 5, 2026
- NewGPS Mode now shows an overhead preview of your route — distance, estimated time, and the path on a map — before you tap Go, instead of starting navigation the moment a destination is picked.
0.92.16
August 5, 2026
- FixReroutes were failing instantly with "No signal" — the routing engine was rejecting every request because the heading hint added in the last update wasn't a whole number. Rerouting works again.
0.92.15
August 5, 2026
- FixDev-only ride simulator: "Drive off course" now asks the routing engine for an actual street to wander onto, instead of a mathematically straight line that ignored the road network and regularly cut across fields and buildings.
0.92.14
August 5, 2026
- FixRerouting mid-ride now tells the routing engine which way you're actually moving, so a recalculated route starts out ahead of you instead of occasionally routing you into an immediate U-turn.
0.92.13
August 5, 2026
- FixDev-only ride simulator: following a reroute no longer snaps the simulated rider straight to the new instructions with an instant 180° turn. They now keep going the way they were already headed until reaching the point where the new route continues that same direction, then merge onto it there.
0.92.12
August 5, 2026
- FixDev-only ride simulator: "Drive off course" now continues straight through the missed intersection instead of turning onto an invented cross street, and shows a pulsing pending icon while it's still approaching the turn.
0.92.11
August 5, 2026
- FixA left U-turn was showing the same icon as a right U-turn in the directions — they're now drawn as mirror images.
0.92.10
August 5, 2026
- FixDev-only ride simulator: "Drive off course" now waits for the next real intersection instead of veering off mid-road, a reroute takes a few seconds to react to (not an instant snap), and the simulated rider accelerates and brakes like an actual person instead of holding a constant speed everywhere.
0.92.9
August 5, 2026
- FixThe planning panel could be dragged left and right on mobile — it doesn't do anything, so that's no longer possible. Vertical scrolling is unaffected.
0.92.8
August 5, 2026
- FeatureGPS Mode's "Where are you headed?" screen now has Ride Setup toggles (avoid highways, prefer paved, avoid tolls, avoid ferries) — set them before you search, no need to switch to Planner Mode first.
0.92.7
August 5, 2026
- FixThe header's app icon was sitting too high above the wordmark instead of lining up with it — fixed for both signed-in and signed-out states.
0.92.6
August 5, 2026
- FixThe header now shows the actual Roadbook app icon next to the wordmark, instead of a plain green box.
0.92.5
August 5, 2026
- FeatureTurn-by-turn text is bigger and easier to read at a glance while riding — the instruction, distance, "then…" strip, and all four stat tiles are 10% larger, and the turn arrow is 25% bigger.
0.92.4
August 5, 2026
- FixLive turn-by-turn now looks like turn-by-turn when your phone is sideways: the map runs edge to edge again, with the instruction banner and stats bar overlaid on top instead of squeezed into a side rail.
0.92.3
August 5, 2026
- FixSearching for a city by name (e.g. "Los Gatos, CA") now actually finds the city. Nearby businesses that merely shared a word with it were crowding the real match out of the results.
0.92.2
August 5, 2026
- FeatureTap any leg on the map to open a compact Ride Setup popup right there — avoid highways, unpaved roads, tolls, or ferries for just that leg — instead of only in the sidebar.
- FeatureAdded Undo for map edits. Dropping a pin or dragging a leg to reshape the route can now be undone (up to 5 steps back) from a floating Undo button.
- FeatureThe header's sign-in button is now a compact, generic "Sign in" (still Google under the hood, for now), and the app icon got a refresh.
- FixThe app no longer asks for your location the moment it opens — only when you tap something that actually needs it, like "Use my location" or GPS Mode.
- FixStarting to drag the map around no longer occasionally drops a stray pin.
- FixDragging a stop and releasing it no longer pops open a nearby leg's settings or drops a duplicate pin. Clicking a stop no longer opens the adjoining leg's settings either.
0.92.1
August 5, 2026
- FeatureLandscape turn-by-turn is available on every plan — rotate during a ride for the side instruction rail and map, whether or not you’re signed in.
0.92.0
August 5, 2026
- FeatureLandscape turn-by-turn layout (instruction rail + map). Opened to all tiers in 0.92.1.
0.91.2
August 4, 2026
- FixThe Pin Options popup that opens after dropping a stop no longer jumps to a new position right after appearing, especially noticeable on mobile — it now waits for the map to finish framing your route before showing up.
0.91.1
August 4, 2026
- FixDragging a stop near where the route line meets it could create a duplicate stop on top of it, instead of moving the one you meant to. A press that close to a stop now always moves that stop.
0.91.0
August 4, 2026
- FeatureDropping a pin on the map now pops open a "Pin Options" menu right away — mark it pass-through or remove it before doing anything else — instead of leaving those controls only in the sidebar list. Other clicks on the map are held off until you close it, so one careless tap can't drop a second pin.
0.90.6
August 3, 2026
- FeatureThe "Download for offline" button now shows the estimated size of the map download, e.g. "Download for offline (10.2 MB)", so you know what you're committing to before tapping it.
0.90.5
August 3, 2026
- FeatureWeather cards now also color-code by temperature — blue for under 55°F, light blue 55–64°, green 65–75°, orange 76–85°, red for 85°+ — alongside the condition icon added last release.
0.90.4
August 3, 2026
- FeatureWeather cards along your route now show a condition icon (sun, cloud, rain, snow, etc.) instead of just a color-coded edge, so you can tell what the weather is at a glance.
0.90.3
August 3, 2026
- FixTurn-by-turn's spoken "take the exit" cue now comes with more advance notice at highway speed — about 25 seconds before the turn instead of 11, so there's time to change lanes before a fast-approaching exit.
- FixThe iPhone shake-to-undo "Undo Typing" alert fix from 0.90.2 is confirmed working on real hardware, so the welcome screen no longer tells iOS riders to turn off Shake to Undo manually.
0.90.2
August 3, 2026
- FixAttempted fix for iPhones popping an "Undo Typing" alert mid-ride when motorcycle-mount vibration triggers iOS's shake-to-undo gesture. Riders on iOS should still turn off Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Shake to Undo before a ride as a backup — this fix isn't confirmed yet on real hardware.
0.90.1
August 3, 2026
- FixDropped and dragged stops were showing raw coordinates instead of a place name, and pins weren't snapping onto the road. Both features are temporarily disabled while a mapping-provider account limit is resolved, instead of silently failing on every stop.
0.90.0
August 3, 2026
- FeatureAdded "Your riding stats" to the Saved Rides panel — total rides, distance planned, longest ride, journal entries, and your most frequent starting point, computed entirely on your device from your saved rides.
- FeatureAdded optional, anonymous, aggregate-only usage telemetry to help us see which features are actually used and catch failures (like a map that fails to load) that were previously invisible. On by default, with a "Share anonymous usage data" toggle in the sidebar — it turns itself off automatically if your browser sends a "do not track" signal. No coordinates, names, or account information are ever included; see the updated Privacy Policy.
0.89.0
August 3, 2026
- FeatureThe "You've arrived" screen at a stop along your route now continues on its own after 15 seconds (with a countdown ring), instead of waiting for a tap.
- FeatureOn iPhone, the one-time welcome screen now tells you to turn off Shake to Undo before your first ride, since handlebar vibration can otherwise pop up an "Undo Typing" alert mid-ride.
- FixClicking the Roadbook wordmark in the header now takes you back to the home screen.
0.88.0
August 3, 2026
- FeatureDropped pins now snap onto the nearest road or cross-street instead of landing wherever you clicked or dragged.
- FeatureYou can now drag a route line on the map to reshape it, on both desktop and touch devices.
- FixWidened the route line's click/tap target so it's easier to grab on both mouse and touchscreen.
0.87.0 – 0.87.2
August 1, 2026
- FeatureShare links now use short, persistent URLs instead of long encoded links.
- FixReduced the app's download size by only loading cloud-sync code for riders who actually use it.
0.86.0 – 0.86.1
August 1, 2026
- FeatureThe Stops panel now shows up as soon as you set a Starting Point, instead of waiting for a full route.
- SecurityHardened account and ride data on shared devices, and added server-side limits to match the app's own.
0.83.0 – 0.85.2
July 31, 2026
- FeatureAdded optional Google sign-in and cloud sync, so your rides can follow you across devices.
- FeatureAdded a "Save This Ride" button.
- FeatureAdded account deletion, Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions pages.
- FeatureThe safety disclaimer is now a one-time welcome popup instead of showing every time.
- FixFixed the turn-by-turn banner showing stale or wrong maneuvers, and voice guidance silently skipping instructions after a reroute.
0.81.0 – 0.82.0
July 30, 2026
- FixFixed a false "you've arrived" alert, and voice guidance talking over the Arrival screen.
- FixFixed clicking a Stop pin sometimes dropping a duplicate waypoint.
0.76.0 – 0.80.0
July 30, 2026
- FeatureAdded "Download for offline" so routes and map tiles can be saved for riding without signal.
- FeatureSwitched to a self-hosted, nationwide map tile archive for faster, more reliable map loads.
- FeatureAdded dev/testing tools for simulating a ride to catch turn-by-turn bugs before they reach riders.
- FixFixed voice guidance cutting itself off during tight sequences of turns, and repeating identical alerts.
- FixStop markers now show up on the turn-by-turn map.
0.74.0 – 0.75.0
July 29, 2026
- FeatureRoad name labels now show up at lower zoom levels, and the route line is lighter so they stay legible.
- FeatureReworked the Starting Point, Home, and Saved Rides panels for clarity — new icons, tooltips, and a redesigned Saved Rides list with delete confirmation.
- FeatureSearch results you've picked before now rank higher in place search.
- FixFixed per-leg ride preference overrides getting lost when a route recalculates.
- FixFixed the app declaring arrival on the very first GPS fix of a ride.
